Progressive Discipline Plan

PROCEDURAL STEPS REGARDING REFERRALS AND CONSEQUENCES

  1. Verbal  warning.

  2. Teacher directed consequence.

  3. After school detention, parent contact and/or counselor contact.

  4. Administrative referral.

  5. Administrative referral with parent conference.

Exceptions:

Defiance, profanity and fighting will not be a part of the Progressive Discipline Plan not will deviant, dangerous and illegal behavior. Discipline could lead to suspension, involuntary transfer to an alternative program  or expulsion. Law enforcement agencies may be contacted, which could lead to arrest.

 


DETENTION

  1. Students may be assigned detention as a consequence for not following school rules or regulations and procedures.

  2. Students assigned detention will be given a detention slip with the date of the infraction and the amount of time to be served. ALL DETENTIONS MUST BE SERVED THE DAY FOLLOWING THE INFRACTION. It is the students responsibility to notify their parent/guardian that they have been assigned detention. If a student is late he/she will be considered a no-show. Students who fail to serve their will receive further disciplinary action.

  3. If a student has an excused absence on the assigned detention day or leaves school during the day for any reason (in which case the student must be checked out through the Attendance Office), then the student must serve detention the first day they are back in school.
